  About the Society
The Society for Radiation Research (SRR) is a scientific body of radiation researchers and individuals/students having interest in the area of radiation research. The SRR has been registered on December 15, 2014 in Mumbai by a group of scientists and clinicians. Society for Radiation Research is aimed:
(i) To promote research in the areas of radiation biology with basic and applied aspects, clinical radiation biology and oncology, radiation hormesis & low dose radiation biology, environmental radiation biology, nuclear medicine, radiation technologies, translational research, terrestrial and space radiation biology, non-ionizing radiation effects and any other relevant research areas.

(ii) To facilitate integration and interaction of different radiation research areas.

(iii) To promote the diffusion of knowledge in these research areas through organizing meetings, conferences, workshops, awareness programs, scientific publications etc.

(iv) To promote discussion, interactions amongst scientist-public-industry and acting as liaison to communicate facts and research developments to public, government and regulatory bodies.

(v) To integrate Society with other National and International Scientific Bodies.

(vi) To encourage and promote young researchers and students to pursue research and build career in the areas of radiation and cancer research.

(vii) To promote and facilitate education of radiation sciences in National Institutes

Currently SRR has more than 70 members including many eminent scientists and clinicians from India and abroad.
SRR has organized two International Conferences (ICRR-HHE 2016, Feb. 11-13, 2016 at Mumbai and ICRR-HHE, Feb 1-4, 2018 at Hyderabad). It has organized first International School on Radiation Research (ISRR-2017) during Feb 2-4, 2017 at Annamalai University, Chdambaram.

Moreover, it has organized Public lectures, Discussion Meetings and Workshops on different themes related to radiation research.

Journal of Radiation and Cancer Research, a publication of Society for Radiation Research, is a peer-reviewed online journal with Quarterly print on demand compilation of issues published. The journal’s full text is available online at http://www.journalrcr.org. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

  Scope of the journal

JRCR aims to publish original research articles, reviews, technical notesJ reports, commentary, opinion related to basic and translational radiation biology (including ionizing and non-ionizing radiation); low dose radiation biology and epidemiology; radiation oncology; environmental and space radiation biology; radiophannaceuticals and nuclear medicine; radiation technologies application for human health and environment; basic cancer biology and therapeutic modalities; physical and chemical aspects of radiation effects to biological systems pertaining to radiation safety, human health and cancer radiotherapy.
